Pistons GT Fall in Playoffs

Heat Check Gaming outgunned Pistons GT in a 85-67 victory in the first round of the NBA 2K League Playoffs.

Outside of the first couple minutes, this game was all but decided as the Heat were doing anything and everything they wanted from the floor. While Hotshot was the clear leader of this team, finishing with 54 points after scoring the first 20 points for the Heat, the rest of the team were no slouches and chipped in at key times to keep them on a roll.

With the Pistons running a pure five-out lineup, they were almost powerless to stop the heat on the defensive side of the game. Anytime they would find a shot or make a small run, the Heat would simply light up the scoreboard with shot after shot to blow the Pistons out of the water. By the time the final buzzer sounded, the Heat shot an out of this world 72 percent on 36-of-50 shooting. With numbers like that, the Heat’s win was just about never in doubt as they coasted to a big victory.

Whereas the Wizards struggled earlier in the night with winning on the back of one player, the Heat were incredibly well-conditioned to do so in this game and barely broke a sweat. It was the defense that ended up being the difference, as the Heat forced 10 turnovers in the game to keep their offense running like a well-oiled machine.

Lets Get It Ramo might have gotten his usual contributions in this game, tallying 27 points, it just wasn’t enough to stop the Heat from running away with the game. He might have been a leader on the offensive side of the ball, but the team simply had no presence on defense and were handed a swift loss because of it.

Heat Check Gaming will now move on to the semifinals on Saturday where they will take on 76ers GC in a best-of-three series.
