Two Players Selected to Complete Six-Player Roster for Pistons Gaming Team
DETROIT – The Pistons Gaming Team (Pistons GT) announced the club’s draft selections that were taken tonight during the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft. Pistons GT selected Trenton “Charger x 704” Simmons with the 14th overall pick and Cody “Lykapro” Hart with the 43rd overall pick.
Along with the two new players drafted, the roster is rounded out with two players returning from the 2019 squad and two players picked up in trades this offseason. Joseph “Joseph” Marrero and Devin “DevGoss” Gossett return from a season ago, while Ramo “Ramo” Radoncic, who was a member of Pistons GT in its inaugural season and first playoff berth, and Johnathan “Demon JT” Fields were acquired in deals in October.
The players in tonight’s draft were selected from a pool of 229 draft-eligible players, consisting of 147 new players who were selected by the league following the NBA 2K League Combine, the league’s first European Invitational, the second Asia-Pacific (APAC) Invitational and 11 team-hosted Pro-Am tournaments, along with 50 unretained players from the 2019 season. During the offseason, 70 players who competed in the 2019 season were retained, leaving 68 roster spots open. There are now 138 players on the 23 teams that are set to take part in the 2020 NBA 2K League season.
