Pistons GT vs Blazer5 Gaming Recon Report
June 3, 2021
by Aaron Fox
After going 1-1 against T-Wolves Gaming (5-1) yesterday, Pistons GT (2-2) prepares to play their third and fourth matchups of the week against Blazer5 Gaming (1-1) tonight.
This evening represents an early opportunity to move up in the Western Conference standings for Detroit, who faces off with a talented Portland roster.
Led by season one champion Goofy and second-year point guard Bash, the franchise completely rebuilt their roster over the course of the offseason. Projected lineups below:
Key Matchup
Radiant vs. Breadwinner
Playing Radiant at shooting guard has many perks and the potential mismatches it can create is one of them. With another talented guard in Greenlight playing alongside him, Radiant often draws the defense’s second or even third best defender. Depending on how a team runs their defense it will usually be the opposing point guard, shooting guard, or power forward matched up with Radiant.
Blazer5 Gaming is one of the few NBA 2K League teams that uses their power forward as a hash defender consistently. While Breadwinner, who holds the league’s all-time record for steals, is well-known for his defensive ability, Radiant is likely looking forward to this matchup.
An added bonus, the two are former 76ers GC teammates having spent the last two seasons together. Now, for the first time in the NBA 2K League, they’ll square off against each other.
