Pistons GT Set Record for Points

Pistons GT managed to end the 2019 season on a high note, putting in a dominant offensive performance on their way to a 108-69 victory over Heat Check Gaming on Friday.

While it was a forgettable season for Pistons GT (2-14), who entered Friday’s contest having lost 13 games in a row, their game against Heat Check Gaming (5-10) was anything but that. Pistons GT not only put an end to their losing streak Friday, but they put an end to it in dominant, record-breaking fashion.

It started in the second quarter, where Pistons GT’s struggles are rooted in, as getting blown out in the second quarter had grown into a habit for this team. That wasn’t the case Friday, however, as after taking a five-point lead into that second period, Pistons GT opened things up with a 18-4 run and ultimately took a 56-38 lead into halftime.

From there, the lead kept growing, and Pistons GT kept scoring. They were scoring at such an impressive rate that it became clear they had 100 points on their mind. Not only did they get to 100 points, but they went on to shatter the 2K League record of 102 points with 108. They also earned a shocking 39-point victory in the process.

That wasn’t the only record breaking performance of the night, however, as Pistons GT’s Joseph, who played center for the first time since opening week of the season, had the most impressive triple-double of the season. On top of scoring 18 points on 9-of-10 shooting and dishing out 14 assists, Joseph posted a 2K League record 29 rebounds. Point guard DevGoss almost matched his center’s triple-double, posting a game-high 32 points, 11 assists and nine steals. As a result of the 27 turnovers they forced, Pistons GT got up an unprecedented 74 shots to just 51 for Heat Check Gaming.

As for Heat Check Gaming, the loss was the eighth in their last nine games. They were led by small forward MOAM, who scored 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting, while shooting guard ChaChingSingh was close behind with 20 points of his own. Point guard Hood had a double-double of 15 points and 10 assists, but he also committed 12 turnovers.
