The Tipoff: Pistons GT See First Action of the Season

Two stars carried Celtics Crossover Gaming to their first win of the 2019 NBA 2K League season, as the likes of oFAB and Profusion blew through Pistons GT en route to a 63-52 win Thursday during THE TIPOFF powered by AT&T.

oFAB and Profusion provided the only offense needed in order for Celtics Crossover Gaming to secure a victory, as the duo combined for all 38 of the team’s first half points. That was good enough for Boston to finish the first 12 minutes with an 11-point lead, one in which Pistons GT never truly threatened.

Profusion, in particularly, was outstanding, nearly breaking the 2019 highest point total (27) in the first half alone. Shooting 11-of-15 from the field, and 4-of-5 from downtown, the small forward worked excellently with the aforementioned point guard in a litany of pick-and-pop situations. While his scoring would eventually cool off, he’d still finish with 36 points on 15-of-24 from the field.

oFAB also put in work on the offensive end, posting 19 points (8-of-15 FG) as well as 12 assists, while the rest of the starting five combined for just eight points.

On the Detroit side, Joseph, the center, attempted to keep things competitive, tallying 11 of his 22 points in the first half. But Pistons GT was unable to control the paint or make Celtics Crossover Gaming uncomfortable; even a respectable 21-of-44 from the field team-wide didn’t put a dent in the deficit. Pistons GT’s point guard, MrStylez (16 points, nine assists), was a bright spot as the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft pick proved to be a solid facilitator and scorer in his own right.
