Wizards District Rain Down Jumpers in Impressive Rout

Wizards District Gaming opened up Saturday morning’s NBA 2K League slate with a 77-52 win over Pistons GT.

Coming into the series, Pistons GT (3-1) had all the momentum in the world, having won all three of their games to start the regular season. Despite that, however, Wizards (3-2) played like the better team from the opening tip off and never let up as the game progressed. With xGREATxGILLY13 picking up a couple early three pointers in the first two minutes of the game, it was clear what their gameplan would be.

Over the course of the game, the Wizards shot an impressive 8-of-15 from beyond the arc. Things were close enough in the first quarter, with Wizards District Gaming taking a healthy 23-15 lead into the second quarter. But once the second frame got underway, Wizards DG continued getting whatever they wanted from the floor. The three pointers were certainly impressive, but that’s not to say that they weren’t able to get anything done on the inside. The red-hot three point shooting helped stretch the floor, as Boo Painter made his made his mark in the paint, shooting 9-of-16 for 20 points to go along with seven boards.

Shooting isn’t everything, though, as the Wizards played some solid defense during their massive surge to keep the Pistons bogged down. Only two members (Rux tallied 12 points and Lets Get It Ramo had 23) of the Pistons scored in double figures, as there was seemingly no rhythm at all in their offense. Wizards DG also dominated the boards 21-to-12 and forced 12 turnovers while only turning the ball over four times themselves. Given those figures, it’s no surprise that all five players were in double figures for the Wizards, as they ran away with this game to climb above .500 on the season
